is a 1947 American
LaFrance 700 Series Engine. It spent its
entire service life with the
Marion Fire Department in Marion, Ohio, until it was
retired in 1977. It has been privately owned
by Bruce Neal of Hope, Indiana, since that time. It
features its original 492 Cubic Inch Auburn-Lycoming
Model "G" V-12 Gasoline Engine, a 4-speed Manual
Transmission, a 750 G.P.M. Pump, and a 160-gallon
Water Tank.
Apart from the addition of the Bell and Roto-Ray,
all of the equipment on the truck is as it was when
it rolled out of the American LaFrance factory in
Elmira, New York, in 1947. It carries American LaFrance Registered No.
L-3171. |
